Queensland holidaymakers with furry friends will be pleased to hear that their dogs now have a ‘luxury’ holiday park section all their own at BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park. The park managers understand that dogs are part of the family, and as such have just as much a right to enjoy themselves on holiday as their humans do. Caravanning News reports:
PAMPERED pooches are enjoying five-star treatment at a Gold Coast caravan park. They have been provided with more room to stretch their legs and can chase tennis balls to their hearts’ content while on holiday. And the four-legged guests at the BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park are also revelling in a range of agility equipment, including a seesaw, hurdle, weave poles and more. The 32-acre park in Siganto Drive has opened a fenced, super-sized, off-leash doggy park. There’s even an on-site cafe that will happily serve up 'puppycinos' to canine guests. Park owner Theo Whitmont explained: "We understand dogs are part of many families, so we think pups deserve to holiday in style like the rest of our guests. Dogs often get left at home when families go out on the weekend so this is a chance to share the fun with them." Dogs aren’t the only four-legged creatures in the park ... a mini cow, two alpacas, chickens, goat and ducks call its mini-farm home.
BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park has long been a favourite with those travelling to visit the area’s many theme parks nearby – there’s Movieworld, Wet’n’Wild, Australian Outback Spectacular, Dreamworld and Seaworld, many of which are within walking distance of the park. And as a family destination, people often bring their dogs – and now they have an exceptionally good reason to.
The benefits of having better dog facilities are clear. More families with dogs will be inclined to take their furry friends on holidays with them, which in turn makes them more likely to go on holidays in the first place (since they don’t have to look for a dig sitter). Parks that allow dogs in – and even better, have exceptional dog facilities – will begin to take precedence in the minds of these families.
A growing trend in exceptional and ‘luxury’ dog facilities could be quite an interesting one to watch, with parks nationwide aiming to provide the very best in doggy entertainment.
With the dog agility equipment and other canine opportunities combined with the park’s proximity to Australia’s biggest and best theme parks, BIG 4 Gold Coast Holiday Park is in many ways a perfect holiday location for families with young children and dogs to boot.
