The Broome Shire Council supported the concept and applied for a funding grant from the WA State Government Infrastructure Development Fund.

The project scooped the lion’s share of the the first round of the $40million fund with 7.6 million of $11.86 million in infrastructure funds shared between Kimberley, Gascoyne and Goldfields key worker accommodation projects.
